Interior Painting in Oregon's Willamette Valley

Fresh interior paint changes a home faster than almost anything else. We prep carefully, mask cleanly and leave smooth, even coats.

Painter spraying interior walls in a vaulted room in Gervais, OR

Interior painting is a game of preparation. The finish coat is quick, but the quality of the result depends on what happens before it: moving or covering furniture, masking windows and floors, filling holes, sanding patches, caulking trim and priming every repaired spot. Walls that skip those steps look fine for a month and then show every flaw in afternoon light.

Many rooms we paint have tall, vaulted ceilings with scaffolding going up beside the walls. Our recent work includes spraying large ceilings and walls with careful plastic sheeting over windows and floors, then back-rolling where needed so the finish is even. Spraying is fast and gives a very smooth surface, but it requires thorough masking and a skilled hand, and we do both.

We also paint after our own drywall and remodeling jobs, so we know how new and patched surfaces should be primed. If you are updating one room, repainting a whole house or getting ready to sell, we plan the order of rooms, the products and the timing around your life.

Signs your interior needs repainting

  • Scuffs, stains and marks that cleaning no longer removes
  • Cracks, nail pops and old patches that have started to show
  • Paint that has yellowed, faded or no longer matches your taste
  • Moisture or smoke stains that bleed through coats of ordinary paint
  • A renovation has left new surfaces that need priming and paint

How an interior painting job runs

  1. Walk through and planWe confirm rooms, colors, sheen and any repairs, and set the order of work.
  2. Protect and prepFloors, windows and fixtures are covered, holes are filled, surfaces are sanded and caulk is applied at trim joints.
  3. Prime and paintRepairs and bare surfaces are primed, then ceilings, walls and trim receive finish coats with clean cut lines.
  4. Touch up and cleanWe inspect in different light, touch up, remove masking and leave the rooms tidy.

Questions about interior painting

How long does it take to paint the inside of a house?
A single room can take a day or two. A full interior often takes several days to a week or more depending on size, prep and the number of coats.
Do you spray or roll?
Both, depending on the surface. Spraying is efficient on large walls and ceilings in empty rooms, and we back-roll for coverage. Brushes and small rollers handle trim and detail.
Do I need to prime new drywall?
Yes. New and patched drywall absorbs paint unevenly, so a primer coat seals the surface and helps the finish look uniform.
What sheen should I choose?
Flat or matte hides imperfections on ceilings and low-traffic walls, eggshell and satin are popular for living areas and semi-gloss suits trim, kitchens and baths. We can advise by room.
Can you work around my schedule?
Yes. We plan rooms in order, can paint in phases and tell you when each room will be dry and ready to use.
